Program/Rotation/Description: MGP is all risk model- giving you the opportunity to work with those experiencing a normal pregnancy, those with complex pregnancies and those with intricate lives affecting their pregnancy. Within MGP there is opportunity to work in the Galinjera team- specialising in working with women and families that identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The MGP role requires the midwife to provide care to women across the continuum of the pregnancy, birth and postnatal period. The midwife will be required to work on call, on a set roster mirrored with a mentor MGP Midwife and MGP AMUM. The MGP model is full-time meaning you will work 10 days and have 4 full days over each fortnight. 7 of those shifts include on call overnight, the other 3 shifts are capped at a 6pm finish. MGP provides excellent work/life balance and high job satisfaction. Western Health has MGP model available to consumers at both Joan Kirner and Bacchus Marsh campuses.
