2026 PMCV Video Interviews

Video Interview format and questions

Candidates are strongly encouraged to review the following information before attempting their video interview. Responses should be authentic, that reflect each individual’s genuine personality and perspective as assessors place high value on genuine and thoughtful answers.

The information provided about the PMCV Video Interview process below and the open-book questions is intended solely for candidate’s personal use. It must not be shared, published, or distributed on any external websites or social media platforms. The only exception to this restriction applies to the GNMP educator providers (universities) who will also receive this material.

  • The PMCV video interview is a single interview shared with all the Health Services in your preference list. It will include a set of questions similar to what you’d be asked in a live interview, displayed on your screen – no interviewer will be present. You do not need to tailor your questions to specific health services. Additionally, Health Services may conduct their own interviews.
    • Available10am – Monday 7 July – 5pm Thursday 10 July 2026
    • Location: Anywhere with a stable internet connection, worldwide
    • Important: You must complete the interview within this window. No extensions will be granted. Not completing your video may affect your application.

Preparation
  • Using a computer or laptop looks more professional than using a phone.
  • Test your technology in advance, to ensure your laptop’s functions well and has a working camera and microphone. You will also be able to test again before you sit your interview.
  • Dress as you would for a professional interview.
  • Choose an appropriate location with good lighting, minimal background noise and where you will not be interrupted.

During the Interview

  • You’ll receive a practice question to test your setup. You can review this response.
  • You cannot review your answers to the actual interview questions.
  • You may take breaks between questions.
  • If you experience technical issues, support is available during usual business hours only.
  • If a question doesn’t go well, keep going, resilience is valued by the assessors.

IMPORTANT:

  • Due to a high volume of candidates completing video interviews at the same time, upload times may be slower. After each question, an uploading notification will appear on your screen. In some cases, uploads may take 5–10 minutes. Please remain on the screen and wait for your response to fully upload before moving to the next question.

  • When completing an online interview, maintain eye contact by speaking directly to the camera, as you would in a face‑to‑face interview. Reading answers from prepared notes or documents can appear disengaged and may be viewed unfavourably. Aim to respond naturally to demonstrate authenticity and strong communication skills.

Health Service Interviews

Health Services may conduct their own interview process subsequent to the PMCV Video Interviews

Health Services who conduct interviews may undertake these as face to face, virtual interviews, or in a group format. Where available the Health Service Directory will provide an overview of the proposed interview process for each Health Service

Examples of interview methods are:

  1. Virtual – Interview conducted via video, with one or more interviewers.
  2. Face to Face – you will be required to attend the interview in person. Maybe one or more interviewers.
  3. Panel – One candidate with questions from a team of interviewers.
  4. Group – Multiple candidates being interviewed at the same time.  Candidates may be required to partake in discussions or problem-solving activities with other candidates while being assessed by the interviewer.

Ensure you dress professional for your interviews.

For face-to-face interviews ensure you have read the Health Services website or letter to get a list of documents you need to take to an interview. Prepare these documents in advance and plan your route so you arrive on time.

Not all Health Services conduct additional interviews, so don’t be concerned if you haven’t heard from all your health service preferences.
